This agreement is effective upon the signing of the parent(s) or guardian(s), and acceptance by the Principal of Maris Stella School and full payment of the non-refundable Registration Fee.  This contract contains the full agreement of the parties and no representation or assurance, whether verbal or written, shall affect or alter the obligation of either party hereto.


The term of this Tuition Agreement shall be for the entire 2019-2020 school year (August through May), or, in the case of a student entering after the school year has begun, from the date of enrollment to the last day of the school year.


At the time of regular registration, payment of a non-refundable Registration Fee in the amount of seventy-six dollars ($76.00) ($75 for Registration plus $1.00 for PTA Fund) per child is required.  If a student registers after the scheduled registration period, a Late Registration Fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) will be added and is payable at the time of the registration. A two-month advance tuition payment is mandatory, especially from new students, and shall be paid together with the Registration Fee.

A parent(s) or guardian(s) with an unpaid balance for the previous school year(s) is not allowed to register their child(ren) until such balance is paid in full, unless special arrangements have been made in writing signed by the Parent(s) or Guardian(s) and the school Principal.


Tuition payments are due and payable every 15th day of each month and will be considered delinquent if not paid after the due date.  If a tuition payment is thirty (30) calendar days (or more) overdue, Maris Stella School may impose any or all of the following sanctions, at the School’s sole discretion, unless special payment arrangements have been made in writing signed by the Family and the School Principal.  Sanctions include:

  1. Sending of Collection Letters to parent(s) or guardian(s)
  2. Withholding of School Academic Records
  3. Referral to an Attorney or Collection Agency

In the event that tuition or any fees remain in arrears and unpaid upon the published due date and the School retains an attorney or collection agency to collect the money due, the undersigned parent(s) or guardian(s) agree to pay reasonable attorneys’ fees and collection agency costs.

If tuition is paid one time on or before the 1st day of the school year, the parent(s) or guardian(s) is entitled to a 5% discount of the Annual Tuition.  Discount may change from one school year to the other.


Parent(s) or Guardian(s) may pay through any of the following:

  • Cash                
  • Personal / Company Checks            
  • Allotments [ Biweekly or Monthly]

If paying through allotments, the parent(s) or guardian(s) shall make sure that allotment payments will cover the whole tuition and any other fees at the end of the school year (May).


A thirty dollar ($30.00) service charge will be assessed for a check returned for any reason.  If checks are returned three times within a three month period, then for the rest of the school year, all payments must be made in cash.


The School reserves the right to withhold grades, transcripts, diplomas and any other student records until delinquent accounts are made current.


Once a student is registered and guaranteed a space, and that student is either withdrawn by parent(s) or guardian(s), or dismissed by the School, before the school year begins, the Registration Fee is forfeited. On the other hand, if a student is asked to leave or withdraw from the School after the school year has started, the parent(s) or guardian(s) is responsible for the prorated annual tuition through the end of the month in which the student leaves, withdraws, or dismissed, including other fees if any. Notification of withdrawal must be in writing and received by the school office.


If a student is withdrawn, for any reason, during the school year, and tuition fee has been paid in advance, the parent(s) or guardian(s) can request for a refund in writing for the amount equivalent to the overpayment.  Refunds will be processed within five (5) working days depending also on the availability of funds.  For those who are paying through allotments, you must make sure that allotment has been stopped before you can claim for a refund.


Tuition and any other fees are calculated on an annual basis, without reduction for holidays, vacations, professional in-service days for teachers or student absences or illness. Also, NO credit/refund will be owed if the School must close because of emergency or inclement weather but additional days will be added to the school year when the school is closed for such reasons.


Registration at the School is on a school year basis. Your child will not be guaranteed a reservation for the following school year, unless you enter into a new tuition agreement with the School for that school year and pay all applicable fees. 


This Contract shall be interpreted and enforceable under the laws of the Republic of Palau. If any portion of this contract is found to be unenforceable by court of law, then the remainder of said contract shall remain in full force and effect.

I (We) have read and agreed to the above terms and conditions, including the obligation to pay to Maris Stella School all charges for tuition and fees, and in all events to be responsible for the financial obligations of my(our) child(ren).
